Georgia-Pacific is searching for an Assistant Superintendent for our Ecosource location in Green Bay, WI. The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for providing support and direction for shift supervision in a two, possibly three, shift operation. They will be accountable for the overall shift performance in terms of safety, quality, reliability, production, and cost. The Assistant Superintendent will also communicate with customers regarding service, safety, quality, and ensure compliance with facility requirements. They will collaborate with facility management to ensure the timely completion of projects and maintain up-to-date department and individual employee roles, responsibilities, and expectations.

Our Team

The Ecosource team is a close-knit group of manufacturing employees who work as one team, striving to achieve our vision of safely running a paper processing operation that recycles nearly 50,000 tons of wastepaper per year, which equals approximately 1 million trees. This recycled paper is used by our Broadway Mill to manufacture different paper products.

What You Will Do

  • Role Modeling the behaviors and actions that advance our Principle Based Management (PBM) Culture and the organizational vision

  • Coaching, leading, mentoring, and developing employees to continuously improve their knowledge skills, and performance to create long-term value for the organization

  • Enabling knowledge sharing and knowledge transfer between team members to help them succeed

  • Managing safety and compliance to support our vision

  • Managing individual performance and holding individuals accountable for their results through vision setting and performance feedback

  • Assist with Dispatch/Office operations as needed

  • Perform duties and responsibilities in various environmental conditions including dust and warm/cool temperatures

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managing a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Proven people skills, including coaching, confronting, managing, and teaching

  • Ability to challenge the status quo and drive improvement

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations Management or a related area

  • Leadership responsibility developing capabilities, and creating accountability in a PBM culture

  • Experience using Kronos

  • Working knowledge of a recycling operation

  • Experience communicating (written and orally), and presenting to individual contributors to senior management
