Where you will work: The Augusta mill sits along the Savannah River, on the state border between Georgia and South Carolina and manufactures light, medium, and heavyweight coated paperboard.

It is a well-invested SBS paperboard manufacturing facility with approximately 600 thousand tons of capacity. This facility boasts over 700 employees and has been in operation for almost 65 years. Located on 3,000 acres, the Augusta site operates two paper machines that produce 1,940 tons per day.

The Augusta Mill is Clearwater Paper's largest paperboard facility and is critical to the success of our strategy and future. Augusta, Georgia is a vibrant community along the Georgia/South Carolina border about 150 miles east of Atlanta and 70 miles west of Columbia. The Assistant Superintendent II - Woodyard will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties: Champions safety through leading by example and directly coaching employees on safety initiatives. Ensures 100% environmental compliance Establishes 100% compliance to State, insurance, and company operating regulations Works with Fibers Supervisors to engage crews in both continuous and safety improvements Supports crew training, blended learning, and certification activities Sets daily, weekly, and monthly operations priorities.

Monitors process health while meeting daily, weekly and monthly operational cost targets. Works with Manufacturing Optimization organization and process engineering to implement sustainable cost reduction projects. Collaborates with Reliability organization and process control teams on sustainable reliability improvement projects.

Supports Major outage planning and execution activities. Key Competencies & Attributes Building Effective Teams Priority Setting Action Oriented Managing and Measuring Work Managing Through Systems What you will need: BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience 7 years of relevant manufacturing or operations management experience 5 years of relevant Woodyard experience preferred.

Supervisory experience (Preferably in both maintenance and production) Thorough knowledge of Woodyard systems, concepts, and application Demonstrated leadership Demonstrated ability to create and sustain change Demonstrated ability to engage a work force Strong interpersonal skills Proactive problem solver. Sitting or standing for extended periods up to 8-hours Frequent, bending, stooping, squatting, as well as frequent movement throughout the facility for extended periods of time Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs. Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.

Use of various office, hand tools or electrical equipment Personal Protective Equipment required in mill environment. Exposure to airborne particles and times of increased heat and humidity.
