  • Direct and coordinate broad Evaluation and Assessment activities of the district, having as their purpose the collection, maintenance, and distribution of student, financial, and staff information; the evaluation of programs; and the implementation and assessment of tests, to ensure all state, federal and district requirements are met. Provide counsel and assistance to other executive staff members and other divisions of the district through own departments. Actualize the goals of the Board of Trustees and the Superintendent of Schools through district wide planning, direction, and program initiatives.

  • Direct the development and maintenance of such records, district student outcome goals, superintendent appraisal goals, and other reports as are necessary for the Superintendent, and other executive staff, to keep the Board of Trustees informed of the district's progress and future plans.

  • Direct the management of data which provides targeted support to the district's schools and departments leading to the improvement of student learning through the Executive Director of the Office of Institutional Research (OIR).

  • Direct the administration of all systemwide tests, the development of the Assessment of Course Performance (ACP) and formative or benchmark tests, and the training and provide support to individual campuses through the Executive Director of Assessment.

  • Direct the delivery of objective, valid and accurate evaluation data for decision making and accountability purposes to the Superintendent, the Board of Trustees, personnel, the state, and the public through the Executive Director of Evaluation.

  • Direct the compliance components through the Director of Federal and State Accountability.

  • Function as the district's accountability agent.

  • Direct the development, maintenance, and quality control of all databases through the Executive Director of Assessment.

  • Ensure the optimum utilization of research and evaluation data in the district's decision-making processes.

  • Maintain an awareness of, and competence in subject matter related to department functions overseeing the management and development of departmental budgets.

  • Keep abreast of technical, legislative, and professional trends and developments affecting assigned programs, and disseminate this information to appropriate personnel.

  • Ph.D. from an accredited university with an emphasis in Research, Evaluation, Measurement or directly related field; 36 graduate hours with a grade of B or better in research design, statistics, evaluation methodologies, measurement theory, planning or computer programming.

  • 10 years of direct experience.

  • 5 years of supervisory experience.

  • Direct knowledge of and experience in educational assessment, evaluation, research, or development.

  • Knowledge of and experience with the Texas State Accountability System.

  • Knowledge of state and federal program and reporting requirements.

  • Ability to manage budgets and personnel.
