JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting the store manager in daily operation of the store.


  • Provide excellent customer service and train employees in customer / contributor service skills

  • Maintain attractive store presentation by proper colorization, cleanliness, store layout, signage and displays

  • Assist in preparation of daily reports

  • Reviews and is familiar with Goodwill Industries of Central OK policies, programs and procedures. Adheres to all rules, regulations and codes, and attends training sessions and necessary meetings

  • Punctual & dependable attendance

  • Assist in sales and processing of items

  • Perform retail sales associate tasks as needed

  • Open and close cash registers, performing tasks such as counting money, separating charge slips, GC vouchers, balancing cash drawers, and making deposits

  • Deal with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting performance reviews and disciplinary action, as well as providing or organizing training and development

  • Assumes certain management responsibilities in absence of Store Manager


  • Perform other duties and projects as required by management.


  • Employee is required to operate a computer, and handle textiles and donated goods. The employee must be able to occasionally move stock onto or off shelves, climb or balance on step-ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Good finger dexterity and feeling; talking, hearing, smelling and visual acuity.

  • Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs. and moving up to 50 lbs.


  • Work is primarily performed in a retail and production environment.

  • Employee is occasionally exposed to dusts, molds and dirt while handling donated materials.

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Work schedule may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and occasional overtime, when approved by managers.


  • High School degree or equivalent preferred

  • Prior retail experience or customer service/ relations experience

  • 6 months supervisory experience

  • CPR/First Aid Certification

  • Must have current OK Driver License, pass MVR and have current auto insurance.


  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Good math skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Interpersonal skills: able to work well with a wide range of people.

  • Excellent customer/contributor service and employee relation skills.

  • Demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules.

  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and ability to take initiative

  • Proficiency in PC applications: Outlook, Excel, and Word.
