Overview

As an Assistant Store Manager, you will assist the Store Manager with store operation and implementation of our company's Servant Leadership - Integrity, Guest Focus, Accountability, Recognition, Excellent Execution, People and Teamwork. You'll learn about 7-Eleven's Retailer Initiative strategy, and be trained on our Retail Information System inventory management and ordering technology. You'll also assist with managing the store staff - coaching, training, feedback and scheduling - after completion of the required training and certifications.

Responsibilities

What Will You Do? Forecast, order, stock and merchandise product (upon completion of training) Aid in ensuring prompt reconciliation of store operations paperwork Ensure prompt, efficient and courteous guest service Aid in maintaining a clean, guest friendly environment in the store

Qualifications

The Assistant Store Manager position requires the following: High School Diploma or equivalent required Six to nine months experience as an Assistant Manager; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Strong mathematics ability Strong written and oral communications skills Desire to be part of a performance-driven team

Physical Requirements:
The Assistant Store Manager position requires frequent walking and standing with occasional reaching, climbing, stooping, and sitting, kneeling and crouching / squatting. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of approximately 20 - 40 pounds is required.

As an Assistant Warehouse Manager, your essential job functions will include the following: Leadership and Supervision * Ensure a safe work environment by leading safety programs; ensuring associates receive safety training and certifications, enforcing safety procedures, and addressing safety issues. * Create and implement technical, professional and leadership development plans for associates and team leads. * Utilize effective coaching, teaching and training to develop successful team members. * Collaborate with leadership on employee initiatives to create and promote an environment where team members are involved, empowered, and committed to the success of the Company. * Assist in the development and execution of strategies for recognition, engagement and teambuilding. * Collaborate with manager on the design of staffing strategies to ensure work force is flexible and can respond to variations in work flow. Monitor labor hours and consult with manager on budgetary and operational impact. * Provide input into performance assessments of each team member and recommend appropriate action such as promotions, counseling and termination. Assist Distribution Center Manager with performance conversations. * Assist with coaching, counseling and discipline to hold associates accountable for performance. * Assist with scheduling staffing to meet the changing daily business needs. * Supervise and provide direction for associates. Operations * Execute on daily operations including monitoring of productivity and quality, process troubleshooting and all other activities required to ensure safety, inventory accuracy, on-time deliveries and exceptional customer satisfaction. * Assist in planning, organizing, and monitoring the receiving, storage, assembly (if applicable) and distribution of all items received from vendors. * Aid in inventory control training and execution of cycle counts and physical inventory counts to ensure that inventory is accurate and organized. * Troubleshoot and resolve inventory control discrepancies. * Perform relocation, replenishment and consolidation of product as required. * Monitor the daily production and performance of the distribution center. Reallocate resources (staffing, equipment) as needed. Facilities and Equipment * Assist with controlling and maintaining company's physical assets (building, material handling equipment, fleet, inventory, etc.). * Administer preventative maintenance cycles and fleet/equipment repair needs. * Develop and implement a daily plan for allocating equipment to jobs. Administration * Assist with records and reports regarding activity are prepared on a timely basis and effectively maintained. * Monitor supply levels and order supplies as required. Position Requirements * Associates degree in Business, Logistics, or related field or relevant experience. Bachelor's degree preferred. * 5+ years of supply chain experience, including distribution center, inventory and transportation. * 2+ years of experience leading a team. * Strong process improvement mindset focusing on continuous growth. * Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products. * Experience with WMS, TMS and ERP systems.
