Job Title: Assistant Site Utility Manager

Reports To: Operations Manager

Salary Range: Depends on Experience/Qualifications

This position will report directly to the Site Operations Manager and will be primarily responsible for the following,

but not limited to:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for managing the Powerhouse and Waste Water Treatment Plant with day-to-day utility-relatedoperations which include: steam, compressed air, chilled water and high-purity water.

  • Responsible for supervising/leading both hourly and salaried utility employees in a unionized environment.

  • This includes training operators, time and attendance, communicating job assignments and ensuring job responsibilities are completed in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for continuous improvement operations. This includes energy conservation efforts, efficiency improvements, environmental compliance, utilization of company best practices to reduce production disruptions, quality (compressed air, high purity water, etc.) adherence to compressed air pressure and pressure dew point specifications, and adherence to site requirements of high purity water.

  • Responsible for 100% on-time preventive maintenance tasking generated by the approved site computerized

  • Maintenance Management System (CMMS -generally MAXIMO).

  • Maintain documentation for controls service-related modifications or additions of new equipment or devices.

  • Documentation includes both software and hardware.

  • Prepares and monitors site utility operations budget. Monitors project budget plans. Prepares and presents utility performance status to plant management monthly.

  • Ensure scheduling of all equipment meets the federal and or state requirements for inspections at the required frequency.

  • Responsible for maintaining high-standard cleanliness.

  • Manage 3rd party operations.

  • Develop and maintain Business Process Deployment Boards. Develops processes and log sheets.

  • Coordinate purchased utilities (electricity, natural gas, water, etc). Forecast fuel consumption.

  • Approves treatment processes and chemicals.

  • Assures appropriate software licenses for equipment controls are in place and back-ups to these programs are readily available.

  • Coordinates and interfaces with other functions such as labor relations, operations, engineering, quality, and any other departments, as necessary.

  • Comply with and support the health, safety and environmental programs, including policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate must have five to ten years of experience in Powerhouse & Waste Water Treatment

  • Maintenance/Operations Management. Equivalent leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a proven record of significantly improving processes and procedures. The candidate must also have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and integrity, be a proven self-starter, multi-tasker, and creative problem solver.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree with five to ten years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Certification as an Energy Manager (CEM) or an Energy in Training Manager is preferred, but not required.
