The Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for aiding the Sales Manager and Sales Director with creating, developing and driving sales for Bunzl's assigned distribution facilities. The successful candidate will assist and coordinate sales activities with sales representatives, including development of sales strategies and communication.


  • Will train and assist in the Sales department to learn and understand the sales processes

  • Development of significant Target Account program for each territory

  • Responsible for creating and driving sales while achieving financial goals

  • Build positive customer relationships for both short and long-term success

  • Communicate with internal staff, to include procurement and customer service, to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Assist with other relevant projects as necessary

  • Assist the Sales Manager with developing the sales budget if required

  • Drive a strong customer service mentality and continue building current customer relationships

  • Assist with the development and deployment of sales and customer specific sales strategies

  • Travel required to periodic mandatory company meetings, to include overnight stays


  • High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree or equivalent amount of professional experience required

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience with a proven track record selling in competitive markets, previous supervisory experience preferred

  • Success in selling an outsourcing program and experience working with food service distributors and multi-location chains is highly preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to understand market in which you are selling and the deployment of resources that ensure maximum coverage and product exposure

  • Proficient PC skills required, AS400/iSeries experience is preferred

  • Must possess executive level communication skills; including the ability to sell the concept of improving operating efficiencies while demonstrating value added benefits to executive management

  • Success contacting and making presentation to key people within customer organizations from purchasing managers, general managers, presidents and owners

  • Must possess strong planning, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong analytical problem solving skills

  • Must be a self-starter with strong leadership skills and a creative initiator with the ability to motivate

  • Must be team orientated with excellent customer service and selling skills

By pairing resilience training with recovery operations, we strive to reduce the need for our rebuilding services over time by increasing preparedness among vulnerable communities.</p> <p>SBP encourages individuals that are hungry for change and eager to innovate to join our team so that we can change the future of disaster recovery together.</p> <p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p> <p>The Volunteer Manager will oversee the recruitment and placement of volunteers on home repair and rebuild projects to address damage following Hurricane Maria. The Volunteer Manager will provide daily oversight for volunteer recruitment and coordination- ensuring a continuous pipeline of volunteer support and positive volunteer experience. SBP’s network of volunteers not only assist us in rebuilding homes but also provide funding for our operations and raise awareness of ongoing needs. The Volunteer Manager will be responsible for implementing an effective fundraising and communications strategy with volunteers, philanthropic and corporate sponsors, and the general public to further our mission to shrink the time between disaster and recovery.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p><strong>Leadership and Management:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Implement overall goals and objectives for the Puerto Rico Volunteer Department, commensurate with the Director’s vision.</li> <li>Cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with external partners, donors, and stakeholders through individual relationship development, engaging in public events, and representing SBP within community forums.</li> <li>Ensure sufficient volunteer presence to support Owner Occupied Rebuild (OOR) program.</li> <li>Display strong commitment to SBP’s mission, values, and ethos of community service and continual improvement.</li> <li>Manage 3-5 full time AmeriCorps members supporting the OOR program.
