Responsibilities include but not limited too:

  • Assists project safety manager as a technical advisor to project management on safety, health planning, training, and problem resolution

  • Administers the project specific safety program. Attend subcontractor Take Five, Job Hazard Assessment and Task Hazard Assessment meetings.

  • Works with project Safety Manager to monitor compliance with project safety program and health laws, standards, and codes.

  • Fosters and maintains a close working relationship with Project safety manager.

  • Assist project safety manager in the Investigation of injuries, conditions, and incidents that do or could involve actual or potential liability.

  • Assist the project safety manager with project safety meetings and toolbox talks with positive sign off. Documentation of meetings and meeting minutes.

  • Maintain record keeping and document control.

  • Promulgates safety standards during the course of the project as necessary.

  • Conducts project specific safety orientation.

  • Review subcontractor MOPs, JHA, THA and SSSP for conformance to project safety standards.

  • Promote the project safety incentive programs in accordance with the Project Safety Guidelines.

  • Inspects, on a regular basis, project areas and notifies responsible personnel employed by the general contractors, construction manager, or any subcontractors when violations occur. Assistant Project Safety Manager must attend the weekly project meeting.

  • Ensures that all daily entries in a site safety log are completed. Documentation of daily, weekly safety walks and conversations using the lifeguard and industry safe reporting platform.

  • Inspects and audits of the construction site in accordance with the schedule to determine that the conditions at the site meet the public safety and security parameters for the appropriate work.

  • Must Have Skills/Experience (Including any required Certifications):

  • OHSA 10

  • Applicable safety training

  • Knowledge of the construction industry regulations, 29 CFR 1926

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS + 4 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Responsibilities include but not limited too: * Provide overall on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of construction projects. Performs all functions and responsibilities in partnership with the company's culture, corporate vision, ethics and code of conduct. * Plans, leads and coordinates junior superintendents and subcontractors work activities for a particular project. * Lead junior superintendents and monitor subcontractor personnel. * Ensure implementation of safety program that creates a safe and health work environment through the job site and adheres to OSHA safety and record keeping requirements. * Takes lead on productivity issues and monitors work performance and productivity at company employees and subcontractors to ensure project plans and schedule are followed and project is executed effectively and within budget. * Advise senior level management of potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties, while assisting in circumventing or mitigating such conflicts. Provide assistance to involved contractors in resolving problems. * Major contributor to development of a thoughtful project pre-plan which includes a CPM schedule, work sequences, manpower utilization, material handling and storage requirements and equipment use. * Interfaces with owner, architect and design professionals to ensure compliance to design intent and owner satisfaction. Facilitates discovery and correction of contract document "errors and omissions" and problem solving so as to reduce the cost incurred. * Ensure compliance with all internal and external record keeping requirements, with particular emphasis on accurate, properly coded employee automated timecards and accurately codes, fully priced material delivery tickets. * Use current construction management system to perform record-keeping tasks including, composing daily diaries, maintaining project logs and retrieving RFIs, submittal logs and agreements. * Provide liaison between project management, field engineering, and estimating and specialty contractors to ensure construction complies with plans, specifications and company quality standards and that the project is completed on time and within budget. * Practice sound selection and hiring procedures in accordance with the company's hiring procedures and policies. Train, motivate and support subordinate employees in developing their capabilities to further company, project and personal development goals. * Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and honing training skills in order to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity. * Perform additional assignments as directed by superiors or as required for successful project completion.
