The Assistant Restaurant Manager will direct all restaurant personnel to perform effectively in their roles. Responds to and resolves any guest issues or emergency situations.
Supervises all staff and delegates tasks as necessary. Lead by example and displays thorough knowledge of all restaurant positions. Promotes, supports and enforces hotel programs, policies and procedures by using all aspects of the Portola Hotel & Spa Service Commitments.
Responsible for communicating clearly and directly with employees concerning specifications, policies, and procedures including alcohol-dispensing regulations.
4-year degree preferred, 4-years of experience in Restaurant or Food & Beverage is strongly preferred, 1-year in management required. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact effectively with various levels of management, ability to communicate well with staff, demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, and evaluate staff. Open availability a must; weekends and holidays availability required.
