The Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research conducts basic science and translational research within the Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine. The Wells Center houses more than 200 faculty investigators, staff, and trainees seeking answers to the most pressing questions related to childhood illness.
With the collaboration between scientists and physicians, the center aims to increase knowledge of causes and mechanisms of serious pediatric diseases. Our goal is to develop innovative approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of sick children in Indiana and beyond.
An Assistant Research Professor position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Reuben Kapur in the Hematologic Malignancies and Stem Cell Biology Research Group within the Wells Center for Pediatric Research at the Indiana University School of Medicine. This individual will be working on projects related to study of genetic and epigenetic regulation in normal and leukemic hematopoietic stem cells. In addition, they will work on projects related to obesity, diabetes and microbiome and its role in driving clonal hematopoiesis as well as leukemogenesis. Dr. Kapur's laboratory environment uses pharmacologic, genetic and biochemical approaches, including established, as well as newly created, mouse models and patient derived cells to study normal and leukemic biology.

Basic Qualifications
Doctoral or Terminal Degree required. A PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or life sciences is preferred. Postdoctoral experience in studying obesity, diabetes and microbiome in the context of hematopoiesis and leukemogenesis is preferred. Experience with rodents, cell/tissue culture, molecular biology, epigenetics and hematopoietic stem cell biology are necessary.
