The Assistant Pumper is responsible for assisting with duties related to the daily operations and maintenance of assigned wells and production facilities. Assists with or prepares, maintains and submits reports for daily liquid/gas volumes production, chemicals used, well pressures, etc. Responsible to learn and assist with the optimization and maintenance of oil and gas production and lease expenses. Performs back-up duties for pumper routes. We work an 8 day on 4 day off rotation, followed by a 7 day on and 2 day off rotation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but are not meant to be at all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary:
Assists with daily operations checks of wells and production facilities; provides prompt notification as conditions change; conducts production tests Assists with minor repairs of surface production and injection equipment
Assists with the maintenance of production equipment to ensure optimal operating condition
Assists with installation and repairs of tank batteries
Assists with the maintenance and upkeep to ensure a clean and safe lease and wellsite
Assists with submission of daily reports of produced volumes of oil, gas and water
Assists with communications to haulers to ensure produced fluids are taken from the lease sites in a timely manner
Trains to witnesses and ensures accuracy of gauges, tests and run tickets performed by purchasers
Assists with construction projects as assigned by Foreman
Assists with maintenance of field offices, and company equipment including computers, vehicles, and cell phones
May perform back-up duties for various assigned pumper routes
Responsible for maintaining neighborly and positive relationship with land owners and regulatory agency representatives
Complies with all regulatory, environmental and safety rules and standards, as well as company policies
Other tasks as assigned
Skills and Experience:
Candidates MUST live within a 55 mile radius of Hobbs, NM or be willing to relocate to the Hobbs area.
This position typically requires skills normally obtained through the completion of High School, GED or equivalent
This position requires a valid state issued driver's license, and employees must pass an initial drug and alcohol screening at hire. Incumbents in the position may be subject to random drug and alcohol screenings
Prior oil and gas experience is preferred
Basic understanding of power tools and manual mechanics tools
Must be a team player with ability to adapt in fast paced environment
Basic computing skills strongly preferred
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
Work is typically performed outdoors. Exposure to conditions, such as extreme heat or cold is likely. Incumbents in this position must be able to physically and legally operate company vehicles and equipment. Employees must be able to perform work which requires walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, heavy lifting, and climbing, including steps and vertical ladders. Personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
