Are you looking to develop your skills in Property Management?
We are looking for candidates that are eager to apply their superior leasing and marketing experience into the next step of their career as an Assistant Property Manager. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of residential leasing, sales and/or management experience.
This is a great opportunity to be the Property Manager's right hand person as you coordinate the leasing efforts, property accounting and reporting.
What you can expect to do in this role:
* Maintain all property accounting and reporting, including but not limited to collecting and posting rent, financial and leasing reports, month end, pre close, bank deposits and ensuring a balanced rent roll.
* Continue using your leasing and sales experience to lease apartments.
* You will be the go-to person for the performance of the leasing team and the manager's right hand person regarding the property's operations.
* Cheer, lead and mentor our leasing team. They will look to your guidance and experience related to leasing, closing, marketing, apartment files, resident retention and marketing.
* Assistant Property Managers are responsible for cultivating and managing the resident experience while supporting the property's needs and policies.
What you can bring to the role:
* Basic bookkeeping knowledge.
* Experience as leasing consultant and the ability to close a sale.
* Creative, motivating personality.
* Superior customer service! Ability to help our customers and resolve any issues with professionalism and clear communication.
* Ability to manage several tasks at once while remaining detailed and well organized. Strong time management, organizational skills, and good follow through with attention to detail are skills needed to be successful in this role.
* Timely and accurate follow through so that our customers feel their needs are recognized and met.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
* Prior experience using Yardi or other related property management accounting software is helpful.
* Understanding of federal, state and local fair housing laws and provisions.
* Professional leadership skills and capable motivating a team!
* Strong adherence to ethical standards including, but not limited to, the ability to maintain confidentiality and maintain fiduciary responsibility.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays.
What is required:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Valid driver's license.
* Real estate and/or other license as required by law.

Responsibilities Job Responsibilities * Under the guidance of the West Coast Region Property Manager and within the company guidelines, develop a profitable book of property insurance business for US domiciled upper middle market and middle market accounts within South California, Nevada & Arizona. * Create business plans in collaboration with our Distribution division to achieve targeted production with identified key retail brokers. Identify occupancy classes to be targeted with these producers. * Develop and maintain relationships with approved retail brokers, including but not limited to travels within the West Coast Region, prepare and deliver presentations, training on our new products. * Underwrite, maintain, and grow a profitable book of business in the admitted property market with Retail brokers. This includes evaluate and prioritize submissions; analyze exposure, coverage requests; determine acceptable deployment of gross and net capacity, determine pricing and negotiate the final property insurance product on an account basis. Monitor his/her portfolio metrics. * Identify business opportunities to differentiate the company and assist the West Coast Region Property Manager and the Property Operations manager into their development. Qualifications Desired Skills * Must have well developed active listening, problem solving mindset and interpersonal skills for developing and strengthening broker relationships. * Strong communications skill, business writing and oral presentation skills must be excellent. * Must have well developed business acumen to understand performance metrics, develop and implement profitable growth strategy within his/her dedicated territory * Must have strong organizational skills and ability to work independently * Sound technology capabilities in Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and ability to use and manipulate data. * Knowledge of CAT Modeling parameters (PML, AAL, data quality) to assess an account and a portfolio exposure and calculate a cat rate. * Knowledge of the regulatory environment of the property admitted market * Understand the key elements of risk selection and risk assessment, can develop loss estimates, develop and negotiate a risk mitigation plan based on survey reports and place fac reinsurance when necessary. Required Education/Experience * Bachelor's degree (ideally with a degree/major in Economics, Business, Risk-management or Engineering). * Additional industry-specific study or designations (such as CPCU & ARM) are a plus. * 5 to 10 years of property experience handling upper middle market and middle market property accounts.
