Join Egan Company as an Assistant Project Manager within our Building Automation team. In this role, you'll provide project coordination support for projects and project teams.

With the flexibility of working hybrid, in this role you can collaborate alongside others with a blend of working in the office, at home, and at jobsites.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the project team to plan, setup, and manage construction projects.

  • Navigate and use Egans project management systems and processes, including Milestone Based Delivery (MBD).

  • Promotes a positive safety culture by ensuring Egans safety policies and goals are communicated and followed on assigned projects.

  • Participate in construction document analysis to develop clear and consistent interpretations.

  • Become familiar with the materials, equipment, and components of the technical systems installed by Egans trades.

  • Manage material purchases, project material coordination, and material stock for emergency and service project use.

  • Advise project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, and the like, as it relates to assigned duties. Learn how Egan can circumvent and/or resolve such problems.

  • Monitor V-Model for each project and assist with associated tasks (i.e. schedule kick-off and close-out meetings, coordinate tool returns, etc.).

  • Track job permitting.

  • Compose and edit letters, memos, reports, and procedures; assist with change orders, project billings, and change request pricing.

  • Process day-to-day administrative items (i.e. supply requisitions, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, procurement, take-offs, etc.) as directed.

  • Prepare special reports, studies, and statistical analysis per supervisors request. May require research, development and/or interpretation of data with little supervision or instruction.

  • Learn how to interpret project schedules, anticipate manpower requirements and measure subcontractor performance.

  • Assist with the research and preparation of field change requests to resolve design issues.

  • Participate in the continuous updating and accurate generation of as-built documents.

  • Attend project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as directed.

  • Assume a proactive approach to career development. Utilize available resources within Egan, as well as request alternative instruction to learn how to become a successful project manager.

  • Solicit and review project submittals; coordinate with project manager and purchasing.

  • Build strong internal partnerships; work collaboratively with other Egan groups to support Egans Mission, Vision and Values.

  • Use basic understanding of financials and reporting to support a PM in related responsibilities.

  • Perform additional duties and assignments as requested/needed.

Position Requirements

  • 2-year associates degree or Bachelors degree (or equivalent level of technical training and related construction experience).
  • 0-2 years of construction and/or general business experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Passion for the industry.

  • Outstanding organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities.

  • Courteous, professional, diplomatic, and highly motivated.

  • Anticipates and adjusts to changing priorities and methods; willingly takes on new tasks and challenges.

  • Demonstrates a willingness to take on new tasks and learn new things.

  • Excellent MS Office and Google Suite skills and ability/desire to learn new software systems.

  • Must obtain OSHA-30 certification within six (6) months from date of hire (if not already certified).

Working Conditions

  • Performance of duties will be in the office, at customer sites, and job sites as needed.
