The Assistant Project Manager goals are to assure the field team is working within the company SOP's and that the scope is clearly understood as it relates to the task planner and schedule. He/She is responsible for selecting the means and methods as well as submitting internal MM's schedule to the GC, submittals, transmittals, timesheets, project information sheet, specifications review, buy outs, conducts and delegates project layout, material and equipment tracking.

Essential Job Functions

  • Reports to Sr. PM/PM by providing weekly updates

  • Monitors the distribution of all labor resources

  • Monitors project objectives, company policies, procedures and performance standards of all project field personnel

  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions under the supervision of the Sr.PM/PM

  • Monitors and reviews time sheets and daily reports as needed

  • Manage and maintains professional relationships with vendors/subcontractors for the purpose of successful completion the field project(s)

  • Monitors project closeout, as-builts and expedites punch-list items to ensure prompt final payments

  • Monitors company and /or rental equipment for efficient utilization

  • Represents the company in field project-related meetings

  • Provide field weekly progress reporting such as % Complete by Cost Code Report and field progress drawings

  • Schedule and coordinate subcontractor activities

  • Prepare cost construction estimates and associated budgets under the supervision of the Sr.PM/PM

  • Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems by submitting notices to support the claim as directed by the Sr.PM/PM

  • Progress Billingsmanage SOV sent to AR, Manages open commitment

  • Coordinates with QA/QC, BIM, Prefab Designer, Prefab and Warehouse

  • Monitoring of sub-contractors to ensure guidelines are maintained

  • Assist with field project accounting, costing and billing

  • Attends and prepares CTC for monthly Statusing Meeting

  • Safety oriented

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of the industry and its current events

  • Technical competencies - understand software, hardware, networks, etc.

  • High initiative and ability to work well in a team environment

  • Effectively handle stressful situations and deadline pressures

  • Knowledge of project management processes, workflow and terminology

  • Strong communication skills

  • Detail-oriented

  • Common sense

  • Proficiency in Bluebeam (software)

  • Estimating Program experience (Example: Accubid- Live Count, Change Order Pro and Enterprise)

  • MS Project and Bluebeam (Preferred)

  • Experience - Has 3-5 years or more of previous electrical experience (commercial/industrial) or project management or leadership management, undergraduate degree or graduate degree preferred.

Non-essential Job Functions

  • Manages contacts and professional relationships with owners, contractors and other representatives

  • Works with Estimators, pre-construction and engineering teams

  • Assists in identifying and mentoring potential leaders

  • Assists in identifying and developing better processes
