Job Description Job Description Overview: We are seeking a full-time Assistant Project Manager (APM) This position is accountable for scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing multiple projects including but not limited to scheduling of crews and/or sub-contractors, resolving day-to-day problems on the job site, and inspecting all work during the project to ensure quality and compliance with plans and specifications, while meeting budgetary requirements.
The right person will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, looks forward to different challenges on a daily basis, and approaches each day with a positive and energetic attitude UMA is seeking a results-driven Assistant PM to join our team at our home office in Colfax, NC. Responsibilities: Assist with accounting functions at the project site. Collect and process paperwork verifying for accuracy.
Communicate daily with the project field personnel. Communicate with vendors and clients. Create opportunities as given from field.
Create Job Start Notice (JSN) as requested by field/PO from client. Create JSN for PO change orders. Track and enter payroll (PR) hours and verified it is correct with GPS.
Track and enter equipment hours Survey Time/Equipment and Transport Time/Equipment to be added to timesheets. Review and approve AP invoices in workflow, and contact vendor if invoice is incorrect or missing. Create PO requisitions and submit to vendors – store in project folder in server when returned with signature.
Receive on PO’s once verified with field and track POs to increase/close. Create billing sheets as needed. Create billing roll-ups.
Track billing to PO’s – total amount and material amounts for Field Glass PO’s. Client reports if needed and/or client system data entry if needed. Audit project to ensure all materials were billed.
Qualifications: Previous experience in a related field encouraged. Previous experience in working with Project Managers for the delivery of commercial projects or in geotechnical construction. Written and verbal communication skills Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office and of project manager tools BS in Engineering degree preferred.
