Assistant Project Manager

We are seeking an ambitious, energetic, and self-motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our team.

  • Two years' experience in the construction field preferred.

  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.

  • Must be able to think rationally beyond a specific set of instructions.

  • Experience with the development and maintenance of project schedules.

  • Have a strong familiarity with job cost information.

  • Must have the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a variety of practical situations

  • Knowledge of construction methods and processes.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bachelor's Degree in construction Management preferred.

The ideal candidate would have new build industrial construction sector experience. This role will be based in the Nashville, TN metro area. Role Purpose The Assistant Project Manager is accountable for the supporting the Project Manager in the planning and execution of the project to achieve the client's project objectives. This includes developing, project management documentation and maintaining project information, controls and records. The role also involves a focus high quality delivery and promoting health and safety excellence. This role is responsible for supporting the delivery of limited-complexity projects involving multidisciplinary teams, specifically, Heavy Civil projects/deliverables. Key responsibilities * Working with the Project Manager to Prepare and maintain definitions of the requirements of projects or project workstreams. * Developing the plans and strategies to successfully delivery the project objectives * Supporting the development of contracts for the provision of goods and/or services, monitoring compliance and managing variances * Maintaining governance arrangements for the delivery of projects that align with organizational practice * Planning and controlling the delivery of work packages within the project. Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience Essential * Knowledge of approaches for the successful delivery of infrastructure projects from initiation to completion. * Experience in contract preparation and procurement of service providers, in particular design and technical services and construction contracts. * Techniques for the Preparation and maintenance of schedules for project activities and events, taking account of dependencies and resource requirements * Development of budgets for projects and controlling forecast and actual costs against them. * Maintaining and applying quality management processes for project activities and outputs * Consolidating and documenting the fundamental components of projects (scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, risks, opportunities and issues, and quality requirements) * Establishing, and implementing where necessary, protocols to change the scope of projects, updating configuration documents as required.
