The Assistant Project Lead will assist with managing and delivering projects under the guidance of a Senior Project Lead. The Assistant Project Lead will create / maintain project documentation and perform tasks within the project work stream such as business process modeling, requirements gathering, specification building and user acceptance testing. This position requires strong project management skills and an eye for detail.
The ideal candidate will have formal experience with business process modeling methods and tools, documenting project requirements, scope, and objectives while assisting with driving projects to completion. Experience in SQL is required as the primary tool for system configurations. Experience in a change management role is highly desired.
The Assistant Project Lead will wear many hats but need to be highly organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize tasks while working independently. The ability to motivate others and keep them on task in a positive and encouraging manner is also a must-have skill in this position.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Work directly with business stakeholder documenting existing processes using formal business process modeling/mapping tools and methods
Work collaboratively with Project Leads to maximize productivity of the projects team as part of an enterprise effort of business process improvement (BPI)
Use technical toolsets, including database tools such as SQL Server to reconfigure various internal and third-party systems
Perform user acceptance testing and work directly with stakeholders to ensure the delivery of projects that improve the business
Perform project management duties such as maintaining and reporting on project plans
Perform other duties as assigned
BS/BA Degree in technical field preferred or experience in a similar role.
Very strong SQL and SQL Server experience required
Very strong Microsoft Excel and Office tools knowledge and experience
Experience in Jira and Confluence a plus
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Willingness to learn new tools, technologies and stays current with market trends
Strong organizational and project management skills
Must be able to work within tight deadlines and be adept at balancing shifting priorities and time management
Must be a strong team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to accept personal accountability and ownership for areas of responsibility.
Willingness to travel for training and meetings related to this position
Ability to work across all levels in the organization
