We are seeking an Assistant Project Engineer for our Washington D.C office with a minimum of 4 years of experience to assist in managing roadway and or bridge infrastructure projects. The Assistant Project Engineer will support the on-site owner's representative and needs to have working knowledge of local DDOT and utility agency standards. Primary responsibilities will include:
Maintains and coordinates all RFI and submittal reviews.
Assists managing field staff, the budget, and construction schedule and maintains all project files.
Records project progress, installed quantities, and reviews contractor payment applications.
Coordinates and maintains all records of testing, certification and other quality records.
Reviews and updates all records related to safety, quality, cost, schedule and conformance to the contract.
Attends progress meetings and prepares meeting minutes.
Assists in the review of project issues and potential solutions.
Updates and manages As-Built files.
B.S. in Engineering or Constructing Management.
Minimum of 4 years relevant experience working on roadway, bridge, and utility rehabilitation construction projects, with minimum 2 years of experience as an Assistant Project Engineer.
Knowledge of DDOT, DC Water and other local utility standards and specifications.
Inspection experience, including having certifications in concrete, asphalt, soils, aggregates, and traffic control is preferred.
Transit experience is a plus.
Experience in any local agencies surrounding DC.
