Assistant Program Manager

35 hours per week / $30.00 - $33.50 per hour

(The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.)

Supervision Responsibilities: Under the general supervision of the program manager, provides direct supervision and takes leadership responsibilities for inter- disciplinary team members during program or service activities and provides secondary on-call services based on the psychosocial rehabilitation model of treatment and services.

Summary: Under the general supervision of the HSSP Program Manager, the HSSP Assistant Program plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of the program while providing support and guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality services. This position involves collaborating with the HSSP Program Manager, Clinical Supervisor, and Assistant Director, as well as multiple interagency and project-based teams to maintain program compliance, supervise staff, manage budgets, and promote a recovery-oriented environment for program participants. This position takes leadership responsibilities for inter- disciplinary team members during program or service activities and provides secondary on-call services based on the psychosocial rehabilitation model of treatment and services.

  • In collaboration with and under the direction of the Program Manager, responsible for oversight of day-to-day program operations; day-to-day support and guidance overseeing the delivery of high quality recovery-oriented services to members participating in the program.

  • Assist Program Manager as assigned with monitoring, tracking, and reporting program outcomes.

  • Helps maintaining program budget and objectives and uses knowledge of budget to guide service decisions made by team.

  • Provide timely information, feedback, observations, and solution-focused resolutions to Program Manager with regard to emergent staff, team or client/member issues to encourage overall quality of services and staff development

  • Assist Program Manager with monitoring and auditing completion of progress notes, annual care plans and documents (PFI/FOAs, Barrier Lists, etc.) with each enrolled client/member.

  • Provides psychosocial rehabilitation services, crises intervention, and other interventions that promote overall mental health wellness and recovery and within scope of practice. This position does not maintain their own caseload. There is a billing goal of 14 hours per month.

  • Provides a welcoming environment for individuals enrolled into the housing (HSSP) programs; shares responsibility and collaborates with team members to set-up, maintain, monitor, correct and enhance all day-to-day aspects of the housing programs functioning.

  • Mediate and advocate on behalf of the member to help him/her obtain and keep housing, health care benefits, entitlements, etc.

  • Assist and support program documentation standards of staff in accordance with MHALA, County-Contracted Provider, and funding source standards and requirements, and documents in required program, including 24 hour turnaround documentation.

  • Actively provides support to individuals on the team as directed and requested by the management team and supports publicly all decision made by the management team.

  • Attend planning and administrative meetings as required by Agency needs or funding sources; participated in community involvement and community constituency groups; assist and participate in the planning of staff development activities.

  • Read, perform research, attend workshops or seminars as Agency sees fit and as it relates to program needs.

  • Participate in other professional development activities in order to maintain and enhance personal and professional skills related to program needs.

  • Oversee program documentation standards of staff.

  • Provide coaching to correct errors and recommend/provide technical assistance when needed.

  • Represent MHALA and participate as an Assistant Program Manager in meetings, community partners and team.

  • Disseminate relevant information to the team in a timely manner.

  • In collaboration with and as assigned by Program Manager, prepare and submit data quality/outcomes reports.

  • Work with landlords and property management companies and generate housing opportunities through advocacy, information and education.

  • Stay current with technical and administrative changes in various housing programs and their requirements.

  • Network with other mainstream service agencies to share ideas and resources, develop effective programs, solve common problems and maintain a professional network of referral resources for education, employment, psychiatric and other support services.

  • Provide leadership and guidance when Program Manager is not available

  • Participates in team, staff and community meetings including housing site meetings.

  • Assists with the leadership of the day-to-day operations of the department as needed. Participates as an active member of management staff, quality improvement, safety committee, domains or other leadership teams as needed or assigned. Participates in the agencys community life as appropriate.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-year experience providing psychosocial rehabilitative services to a disabled population required

  • Preferably a bachelors degree in a human service or related field or certification in a mental health specialty.

  • Experience in a supervisory/leadership role preferred

  • Willingness to become LPS designated to write 5150 holds for members when needed (if LVN, RN, or licensed clinician).

  • Demonstrated ability to provide supervision and leadership to diverse staff who possess a wide range of skills, abilities and professional competencies

  • Flexible work schedule to include some nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Driving with current class C drivers license, a vehicle for transportation, proof of valid automobile insurance, the ability to be insured by MHA liability insurance are conditions of employment

  • TB clearance and re-testing every year are conditions of continued employment

  • Must have good basic English writing skills, good basic computer skills and be highly organized

  • Knowledge of community resources.

  • Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Ability to track and interpret complex data sets for the program services and budget

  • Must be detail oriented, and able to prioritize and juggle multiple projects without losing productivity.

  • Valid CPR certificate preferred.
