The Clark Scholars Program Network (CSPN or the Network) at the University of Maryland, College Park is seeking an Assistant Program Director to engage in a number of unique areas and opportunities supported by the Network, including: program development and engagement for the Clark Scholars at the 11 institutions, alumni engagement, leadership development and administrative management.
The Assistant Program Director is designed to advance the vision of Clark Scholars Program Network and expand the Clark Scholars community development initiatives by (1) supporting the development of innovative and inclusive approaches for Clark Scholars programming (2) expanding, creating, and engaging the CSPN alumni (3) creating opportunities for CSPN program leaders and staff to connect. This role will work directly with the CSPN Director to strategically develop, scale and grow the CSPN. This position will be integral in the development of CSPN infrastructure to support the growing Network.
While not required, the ideal candidate has a background in student affairs, higher education, scholarship administration programs, leadership, organizational development, or related field. No engineering experience is expected or required of this position.

Reporting to the Director, CSPN, the Assistant Director implements strategy for annual scholar conferences, CSPN program director meetings, and relationship development for alumni. This person is the day-to-day lead on program management across the Clark Scholar Program Network universities, providing hands-on support and timely responses to inquiries. The position leverages the university's consumer relationship management (CRM) software to ensure meaningful engagement with the CSPN alumni community.
In collaboration with Clark School Communications, they will suggest, create, and amplify editorial and multimedia content within the CSPN to highlight scholar and program achievements. This content may be featured in the Clark Foundation Legacy exhibits online and in Zupnik Hall at UMD. They will collaborate with internal and external colleagues to administer surveys to the CSPN that will be used to make data-informed decisions to ensure a healthy network.
Using the Clark Scholars Program Guiding Principles as a road map, the Assistant Director will adeptly build relationships across the network, supporting the Director by traveling to network institutions and other engineering education events. The position works closely with the Clark Scholarships Program team at Maryland and across the network to design events and communications that support scholars' personal and professional development.
