The department of Surgery is seeking a Vascular/Endovascular Surgeon for a full-tie academic position at the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center, West Virginia University, Charleston Campus.

Provide teaching, patient care and research in the areas of vascular and endovascular surgery in support of the mission and goals of the WVU School of Medicine and West Virginia University Physicians of Charleston.

Job duties include:

  • Participate as an attending on the Vascular /Endovascular and Acute Care Surgery Teaching

  • Provide emergency room coverage for Endovascular and Vascular Surgery.

  • Provide instruction in Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Interventions.

  • Participate in medical student and resident educational activities, including didactics.

  • Participate in clinical research and scholarly activities.

  • Participate on the resident education committee and resident selection committee.

  • Participate in the expansion of Vascular Surgery Services.

  • MD degree or foreign equivalent degree from an accredited program.

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible.

  • Possess aptitude and passion for educating residents and medical students.

  • Willingness to participate in appropriate academic, clinical research or other scholarly activity as may be required of clinical faculty.

This position is full-time, 9-month, tenure-track, benefits-eligible beginning August 14,2020. Duties: Primary duties include teaching music composition courses for music majors at the undergraduate and graduate level, composition-related courses such as Orchestration and/or Counterpoint, composition pedagogy, and composition courses for non-majors in the general education curriculum. Additionally, the candidate will supervise graduate research and will serve on masters and doctoral committees. Like all faculty in the School of Music, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active program of scholarly research and professional development sufficient to meet the expectations of a land-grant university categorized as Doctoral/Research - Very High. Participation in University, College, and School activities, committees, academic advising, professional service, and faculty governance is expected.
