Responsibilities

New York Institute of Technology's College of Engineering and Computing Sciences seeks a Computer Science Assistant Professor with expertise in Data Science and Computation, including data analytics, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing (full-time, tenure-track; Long Island Campus).

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, or related area, excellent communication skills, and a solid publication record. Candidates must demonstrate an innovative research record and/or industrial experience, and potential for securing sponsored research, contracts and external grants. Successful candidates will share our vision to grow the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences into a leader in applied research and a premier source of student talent in the New York Metropolitan Area and globally.

Responsibilities A successful candidate will have the following responsibilities in this position to include the following but are not limited to: Active engagement in teaching, scholarship, and service activities. Teaching, assessment and advisement of physician assistant students in the didactic and clinical phase of the curriculum. Collaborating with the Program Chair, department faculty, and staff to prepare an annual report summarizing strengths, areas needing improvement, and recommendations for didactic and clinical curriculum. Participate in teaching, scholarship and service activities as assigned by the Program Chair, and as per University/School policies. Other duties as directed by the Program Chair. Qualifications Qualified Physician Assistant applicants should have at a minimum a Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an ARC-PA accredited program. Preference will be given to Physician Assistant candidates currently pursuing or with a Doctorate degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in a related field. Qualified physician applicants must be board certified or eligible for board certification as a MD or DO. Current NCCPA certification Currently licensed as a PA, MD, DO, or eligible for licensure in the State of New York or able to attempt licensure. Physicians must have experience working (clinically or in academia) with Physician Assistants. Applicants should have two to three years of prior teaching experience, preferably as a PA educator or adjunct (instructional faculty) in a Physician Assistant program or medical school. Demonstrated excellence of a minimum of 3 years in clinical practice. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellent leadership and will display a strong potential for applied scholarship and service in healthcare. Strong interpersonal, communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse student population, faculty and staff. The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics: Clinical or instructional experience in any of the following disciplines - mental health/psychiatry, pediatrics, rheumatology, microbiology, research, epidemiology, physiology/pathophysiology. Evidence of scholarly activities and strong research skills. A strong background in the sciences – Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology. Knowledge of program organization, administration, continuous review and analysis, planning, development and participation in accreditation processes. Experience with the ARC-PA accreditation process. Experience and or interest in Interprofessional education, global health and the development of international rotations.
