The essential duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Professor are assigned by the Department Head and may include serving as an academic advisor. The Assistant Professor will have the responsibility to teach full- time undergraduate and graduate special education courses.

The faculty member will have an active research/scholarly agenda, as appropriate for tenure track faculty. The faculty member may also provide support to our Pathways for Paras program. This program supports the transition of individuals from working in K-12 settings in non-certified roles into certified teaching positions.

The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and inclusive excellence of the academic community through their teaching, and/or service. The department is looking for someone to collaborate with colleagues on committees and projects that support the program, department, college, university, and relevant professional organizations.
