South Carolina State University's Department of Social Sciences is accepting applications for qualified candidates to fill an Assistant Professor in Sociology. SC State is located in Orangeburg, South Carolina, and is accredited by SACSCOC.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

The incumbent should be able to teach Introduction to Sociology; Sociological Theory; Sociological Methods: Senior Seminar; and at least two of the following:

Rural Sociology; Qualitative Methods/Statistics; Medical Sociology; Human Sexuality; or Gerontology. Command of English and the ability to interact successfully with students from diverse backgrounds are required. The teaching load is four classes a semester. They would also be required to advise and mentor students and serve on Department, College, and University committees.
