Pay Range
USD $95,000.00 - USD $105,750.00 /Yr.
Overview
This posting is for 3 FTEs. Please note there is the potential for one or more of these FTEs to shift to part-time depending on candidate preference.
Essential Functions
Assists the Program Chair in the organization, administration, continuous and periodic review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the program
Assists the DDE and DCE in the preparation of administrative reports as requested and assigned by the Program Chair
Assists in development, review, and revision of the mission statement, programmatic goals, andcompetencies as needed
Participates in the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the curriculum
Course Director for assigned courses
Assists the DDE in the coordination and scheduling of all didactic courses and classes
Reviews and suggests revisions as needed for the Student Handbook annually
Schedules and assists with student remediation as needed
Assists in the interview and selection of faculty members
Provides for the continuous review and update of all didactic course materials and learning objectives
Provides security for all course and examination materials
Assists the DDE with the maintenance and coordination of the didactic schedule with the Administrative Assistant
Provides assistance with the ongoing assessment and review of the didactic curriculum each semester
Reviews instruments for student and faculty course evaluations
Assists in other duties as assigned by the Program Chair
Attends all scheduled staff and faculty meetings
Assists DDE with coordination and assessment of the function of all adjunct faculty
Teaches courses with which he/she has demonstrated competence and/or experience
Assists the DDE with coordination of curricular modules and scheduling
Assists the DCE with coordination, site visits, and maintenance of clinical sites
Assists the DCE with end of rotation exams and "Call Back" Days
Assist primary faculty member responsible for the Master's Project
Provides assistance with overall program review, assessment, and facilitation of compliance with Accreditation standards
Essential Functions
Provides and facilitates counseling for students
Reviews didactic/academic performance with students as needed
Provides remediation for students with sub-standard performance as needed
Advises the Program Chair of any problems related to student behavior, academic performance, or professionalism
Member of the Admissions and Student Progression committees
Upholds values and mission of Clarkson University and the Clarkson PA Program
Qualifications
Minimum Experience
NCCPA certified Physician Assistant or Board certified allopathic or osteopathic physician
New York State PA registration/license (or eligible) or MD / DO licensed or eligible for licensure in New York State
Consideration given to non-clinicians with strong science / health science background who possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree
Consideration given to Nurse Practitioners that either have an active license or are eligible for licensure in New York State
PA/MD/NP: 2 years of clinical experience
Preferred Experience
Greater than 5 years of clinical experience
Teaching experience; preferably in a PA program, Medical School, or NP program
For PAs, doctoral degree or Master's with willingness to enter and complete a doctoral program
