Assistant Professor Or Lecturer Of Anatomy & Physiology

The College of Health Sciences at Glenville State University is seeking qualified candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or full-time Lecturer of Anatomy & Physiology.  The successful candidate will teach courses in anatomy and physiology as well as other courses for pre-nursing, exercise science, or biology majors based on experience and qualifications.  Individuals with interest or expertise in curriculum innovations as well as scholarly excellence in their specialty are encouraged to apply.

UNIVERSITY PROFILE:

The College of Health Sciences currently offers a Bachelor of Science in Health & Human Performance with majors in athletic conditioning & coaching, exercise science, and wellness management; a Bachelor of Arts in Health & Physical Education; and supports a Bachelor of Science in Nursing as a joint program with Marshall University.  The College of Health Sciences is actively growing with plans for additional undergraduate and graduate programs in the near future.

• Teach courses in anatomy and physiology as well as in areas of the successful candidate's areas of expertise to total 24 credit hours (30 credit hours for lecturer) of undergraduate courses per academic year split across the fall and spring semesters.

• Contribute to student growth and development through academic advising and assistance.

• Collaborate with departmental colleagues on curriculum development, program assessment, and other academic initiatives.

• Participate in department meetings, serve on committees, and contribute to the overall growth and advancement of the college.

• Support student recruitment and retention initiatives.

• Cultivate and maintain teaching and professional excellence.

• An earned doctorate in anatomy, biology, exercise science, kinesiology, physiology, or related field from an accredited institution is required for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.  Candidates with ABD status will be considered.

• A master degree in above areas from an accredited institution is required for appointment at the rank of Lecturer.
