Position Summary:

The Department of Communication at Arkansas State University invites applications for the full-time tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Strategic Communication

Position located in Jonesboro, AR

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Teach graduate courses in strategic communication and related areas, including core courses for the online Master of Science in Strategic Communication degree program such as Communication Law and Policy, Audience Market Analysis, Seminar in Strategic Communication, and a Strategic Communication Management Capstone, as well as communication electives such as Social Media, and Crisis Communication

• Typical teaching load is 5/5. Engage in strategic communication service activities

• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of computers and software applications preferred but not required. Can be gained during degree program

Ability to teach Seminar in Strategic Communication, Integrated Marketing, and Advertising and Account Management is preferred but not required

Would hire without the above preferences

General Days/Hours:

Monday-Friday

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Additional hours as requested and/or needed

Occasional weekends and/or after school activities as requested or needed
