Regent University's School of Education is seeking an Assistant Professor for the Reading Specialist/TESOL programs. This is a full-time instructional, 12-month tenure-track position at Regent University's main campus in Virginia Beach, VA. The candidate will serve as the Program Director for the Reading Specialist and TESOL programs.

Qualifications: an earned doctorate in Reading, TESOL, or related field. The candidate must have a commitment to best teaching practices and strong organizational skills.

The ideal candidate will have experience serving as a K12 school reading teacher, literacy coach, or ESOL/ESL educator with an active state license endorsement in Reading and/or ESL. The candidate will also have a strong knowledge of Virginia Department of Education Reading Specialist and TESOL regulations. This position will have applied and advanced knowledge of research and assessment methodology, curriculum development, and assessment design.

Experience working with diverse student populations is required with the ability to teach and evaluate student performances. The candidate will also have a heart for the personal, spiritual, and professional development of students and faculty.

Expectations include 1) a dedication to Christ-centered teaching and learning; 2) a record of or potential for academic scholarship; 3) the ability to teach undergraduate-level courses; 4) facility with online instructional technology; and 5) a willingness to embrace the College and University Identity and Mission statements and subscribe to a statement of Christian faith.
