POSITION SUMMARY:

USF Health Department of Plastic Surgery provides a broad range of reconstructive and aesthetic surgical services spanning the spectrum of the specialty. In addition to our focus on patient care, we also provide an environment that supports the education of health professionals and encourages advanced research to further medical science.

Currently, the Department of Plastic Surgery Residency Program is comprised of 24 residents (4 per year) under the integrated training model. Research initiatives include translational and outcomes-based projects. The department is a national leader in plastic surgery education and serves as the host site for the ASPS/ACAPS Plastic Surgery Boot Camp.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of South Florida Health Morsani College of Medicine is currently recruiting faculty candidates to be considered for non-tenure track faculty appointment. Appointees will possess expertise in general plastic and/or trauma reconstruction, with a focus on breast reconstruction and lymphatic microsurgery at USF Health/Tampa General Hospital and the Moffitt Cancer Center. The faculty member will have the opportunity to teach residents, engage in research, and participate in clinical program development.

The position includes the management of patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. Outpatients may be seen at the University of South Florida College of Medicine Medical Clinics, and TGH sites.

Clinical teaching and supervision of plastic surgery residents, medical students and other learners.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Minimum qualifications include ABPS board certification or eligibility with a strong interest in the academic missions of our department.

Academic rank and compensation (including a generous benefits package) will be commensurate with qualifications. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.

PREFERRED:

Fellowship training in reconstructive microsurgery will be given preference but is not prerequisite.
