Job Summary

The School of Nursing in the College of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) at Purdue University invites applications for an academic year tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in Fall of 2024. The faculty member will be expected to conduct research and teach courses that enhance or complement the School's priority areas of health systems and quality improvement, informatics and data analytics, health promotion across the life course, family health, population health, or gerontological nursing and long-term care across all levels. The faculty member will be able to teach in the School's nationally ranked undergraduate and graduate programs, including the DNP and PhD.

These health centers, which serve an ethnically diverse population many of whom are uninsured, are clinical training sites for nursing and other health professions. They also are excellent settings for quality improvement projects, nursing interventions, health promotion research, and health disparity studies by nursing students and faculty.

The School also has extensive ties to local and regional hospitals, health care systems, public health departments, long-term care facilities. Faculty members are engaged in research projects with state health and human service agencies, and with colleagues at the Indiana University Schools of Nursing and Medicine and Roudebush VA Medical Center. Ties with Purdue Extension, which has staff on site in the School of Nursing, afford the opportunity to secure funding and to reach out to rural communities throughout Indiana for health-related research and continuing education projects.
