Job Description:

The Business & Economics Department at Marietta College invites applications for a full time, tenure track position in Marketing beginning in the Fall of 2024. Our department seeks an engaged colleague with a demonstrated commitment to a well-rounded education in business in a liberal arts context.

We value the mentoring undergraduate students, teaching excellence, and the professional development of our students. The Candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in marketing, consumer behavior, global marketing, sales, digital marketing, as well as courses in other areas of interest and potential courses of need.

The Department offers degree programs in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, Public Accounting, and Sport Management. These programs provide faculty an opportunity to collaborate with undergraduate students both in and out of the classroom. Marketing is the largest program in the department.

Requirements:

• Earned MBA or similar and three years of relevant industry experience.

• One (1) or more years of teaching (full-time or adjunct) in a college or university setting strongly preferred.

Additional Information:

• Demonstrated commitment to effective teaching at the college level in marketing and related courses. This may be evidenced by a clearly stated teaching philosophy, engagement in pedagogical training and development opportunities, or strong teaching evaluations.

• Demonstrated commitment to mentoring undergraduate students, including first generation and underrepresented college students, e.g., involving undergraduates in research and/or professional development activities, experiential learning, etc.

• Experience in or demonstrated commitment to service at the department, college, and professional level.

• Experience in or demonstrated commitment to contribute to a collegial and collaborative work environment and to partner broadly across campus to serve the educational needs of our students.

• Commitment to the mission and values of the department and college including a shared commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
