Located in North Carolina's third largest city, UNC Greensboro is among the most diverse, learner-centered public research universities in the state, with nearly 18,000 students in eight colleges and schools pursuing more than 150 areas of undergraduate and over 200 areas of graduate study. UNCG continues to be recognized nationally for academic excellence, access, and affordability. UNCG is ranked No. 1 most affordable institution in North Carolina for net cost by the N.Y. Times and No. 1 in North Carolina for social mobility by The Wall Street Journal - helping first-generation and lower-income students find paths to prosperity. Designated an Innovation and Economic Prosperity University by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, UNCG is a community-engaged research institution with a portfolio of more than $67M in research and creative activity. The University's 1,100 faculty and 1,700 staff help create an annual economic impact for the Piedmont Triad region in excess of $1B.

Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit

The Department of Management offers two undergraduate majors, in International Business, and Business Administration with concentrations in Business Studies (face-to-face and online), Human Resources, and Management; an online Master of Science in International Business; an online PhD in Business Administration (with concentrations in International Business, Organizational Behavior, and Strategy); and contributes to delivering the undergraduate business core and the MBA program. Our faculty members are very active in research and have published in such journals as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Learning & Education, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Harvard Business Review, Human Relations, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Leadership Quarterly, Management Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Strategic Management Journal, to name a few.

The Bryan School of Business and Economics has 4,160 undergraduate and graduate students and more than 120 full- and part-time faculty members housed in six departments and programs. Women comprise 46.7 percent of the School's faculty, and 29.1 percent are from underrepresented ethnic groups (UREG); the School strives to improve both percentages. The Bryan School both enrolls and graduates more Black/African American undergraduate business students, and the combination of Black/African American and Hispanic undergraduate business students, than ANY university in North Carolina, and it has a strong placement rate and salary.

Accredited in both business and accounting by AACSB, the Bryan School is the recipient of many rankings, honors, and accolades, and our faculty members are active in research. For example, its tenure-stream faculty members average 2 to 3 peer-reviewed journal articles annually each, and they collectively annually publish 15 to 20 papers in FT50 journals, plus 20 to 25 in other widely acknowledged A-level journals (CABS/AJG), in addition to hundreds of publications in less prestigious journals, books, grants, and contracts. Bryan faculty members also hold more than 100 editorial positions in peer-reviewed journals. The Bryan School has two dedicated recording studios and two dedicated HyFlex (studio) classrooms to support its extensive asynchronous online offerings and the growing opportunity for synchronous online offerings.
