Brief Job Overview/Summary
The School of Education is seeking to fill a tenure-eligible Assistant Professor of Education position to teach courses in the Master of Arts within Education Program. The position will start in September 2024.
Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Offer courses in teacher education, pedagogy and related areas, and/or courses in Bi-lingual/ESL or general studies
Participate in scholarship and/or creative activities as appropriate to the discipline
Serve as preceptor to students
Provide service to the university, community, and profession
Perform other duties under the direction of the Program Director, Dean of the School of Education and/or the Provost, and Vice President for Academic Affairs
Demonstrate, through past accomplishments and actions, the ability to support Stockton University's diversity commitment and strong student-centered vision and mission
Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree for appointment to the position of Assistant Professor. ABD will be considered, but hired as an Instructor until the degree is completed
Minimum of 5 years' successful teaching experience in any instructional position and/or experience in a variety of Bilingual/ESL settings (e.g. elementary, inclusive early intervention classrooms, etc.)
Demonstrated expertise in curriculum and current high-impact instructional practices
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience at the college level in teacher education
Experience with diverse populations in PK-12
NJ (or reciprocal) certification in: elementary, reading, and/or TOSD. (Research experience with these populations may be considered if applicant is not certified in these areas)
