The UNM Department of Anthropology invites applications for a probationary tenure-track faculty position in Evolutionary Anthropology at the level of Assistant Professor to work in a highly diverse and inclusive university. We seek a dynamic scholar whose research complements scholarship in a new interdisciplinary sciences initiative blending field, laboratory, and experimental approaches while providing novel training opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students.
Earned PhD in Anthropology or associated field with an evolutionary emphasis by time of appointment
An active independent field and/or laboratory research program
Evidence of at least 2 peer-reviewed publications, published or in press
Evidence of research quality and productivity
Evidence of commitment to pursuing extramural funding
Demonstrated teaching or mentoring experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels
Evidence of ability in desired areas of specialty that include but are not limited to evolutionary developmental biology; health; physiology; cognition; functional morphology; and microbial, reproductive, or behavioral ecology
Demonstrated ability to collaborate in integrative interdisciplinary research and expertise that will complement existing strengths in UNM.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
