The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice in the College of Arts and Sciences at Seton Hall University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with an anticipated start date of August 2024. The Criminal Justice program consists of a 36-credit hour curriculum and serves nearly 300 undergraduate majors and minors. The ideal candidate should be able to teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in Criminal Justice and Criminology including but not limited to, criminological theory, research methods, and senior seminar, and hold a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Sociology.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Sociology from an accredited university, with a preliminary or comprehensive exam in Criminal Justice or Criminology. ABD candidates may be considered. A Juris Doctorate (J.D.) will not be considered sufficient.
A demonstrated record of scholarship in Criminal Justice or Criminology.
Undergraduate teaching experience in one or more of the following areas: criminal law, corrections, and victimology.
Desired Qualifications:
Research or teaching interests in one of the following areas: corrections, law enforcement, homeland security, big data, machine learning/artificial intelligence.
Leadership and mentorship in teaching, research, or service that supports an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.
Experience in student advisement.
Prior professional experience relevant to assigned course topics.
Able to develop online and hybrid modes of course delivery.
