George Fox University announces a non-tenure or tenure-track faculty position in the Graduate School of Counseling, to begin August 15, 2019. The Graduate School of counseling has passionate faculty that are inspired to teach in a CACREP accredited program.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teaching courses within the curriculum of the Graduate School of Counseling.

  • Ability to supervise practicum and internship students.

  • Supporting clinical decisions as it relates to practicum and intern students.

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with supervisors in community mental health agencies.

  • Ability to develop and sustain an ongoing program of relevant scholarship.

  • Participation in the work of the department and the university, including advising and serving on university committees as needed.

  • Participation in professional organizations.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. from a CACREP institution. Applicants who are A.B.D. in a Ph.D. program will be considered.

  • All applicants must be licensed.

  • Demonstrate eligibility for licensure as an LMFT or LPC in Oregon.

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching is essential.

  • A record of relevant scholarship is essential.

  • A commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.

  • All applicants must express a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a local church. In addition, professors agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

Salary and Rank

Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated, though candidates with significant teaching experience at previous institutions may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.

Providers work within the full scope of family medicine, often caring for entire families from newborns all the way to grandparents.Work Schedule, Hours, FTE, Salary Range * FTE: 1.0 FTE, Full Time * Schedule: Monday - Saturday * Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience * Location: Klamath Falls, OR * Job Type: Faculty Functions/Duties of Position The Assistant Professor will function as a clinician and preceptor at Cascades East Family Medicine Center and will have privileges at Sky Lakes Medical Center. Academically, the Appointee will have a primary appointment in Family Medicine, will practice clinical medicine at this site, and other approved sites when appropriate, and will provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the universitys missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. Responsibilities include:  * Work collaboratively with full and part time faculty to maintain an active practice * Supervise family medicine residency educational activities * Participate in and be available for teaching activities * Serve as preceptor for Family Medicine residents and interprofessional students The Appointee will directly see patients or precept in the clinic on an as needed basis and will be expected to document using the electronic health record and maintain complete and timely patient care documentation consistent with OHSU and Cascades East policies and procedures. Will be expected to participate in seeing patients during expanded access hours in the clinic, including a share of evenings and weekends, and call coverage. The Appointee will be expected to have a strong commitment to developing the practice into a vibrant clinical and academic operation, which is successful from both a professional and business perspective. Job RequirementsRequired: Board Certified or Board Eligible.Additional Details Compensation for the position will be commensurate with experience and other rural practice sites.
