POSITION INFORMATION: This is a full-time, 9-month, unclassified, tenure track (contingent on completion of terminal degree) position. The appointment begins in August 2024.

POSITION DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Professor is responsible for functions related to teaching, research and service to the university and community. The Assistant Professor will work closely with students and faculty in the Department of Psychology.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

The Assistant Professor is responsible for functions related to teaching, research and service to the university and community. The Assistant Professor will work closely with students and faculty in the Department of Psychology.

Required/Preferred Qualifications

Required:

  • Doctoral degree from a counselor education program, preferably from a CACREP accredited program

  • Evidence of commitment to evidence-based therapy

  • Willingness to actively participate in departmental initiative for CACREP accreditation

  • Willingness to actively orient and support all faculty in understanding and implementing CACREP program and accreditation requirements

  • Commitment and evidence to support, recruit, and maintain a diverse student-centered learning community

  • Evidence of commitment to the profession and a counselor identity (e.g., membership in counseling organizations, conference presentations, publications)

Preferred:

  • Minimum 18 graduate credit hours in psychology

  • Professional counseling licensure or national counseling certification

  • Professional counseling supervision licensure

  • Evidence of experience with Motivational Interviewing

  • Certification in ACT, CBT, or DBT

  • Knowledge of and experience with CACREP accreditation process

McNeese typically accepts evaluations by World Education Services (www.wes.org) or Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc.www.ece.org.
