Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at University of South Carolina Aiken invites applications for a tenure track assistant professorship in computer science to begin August 16, 2019. Ph.D. in computer science with extensive knowledge and experience in cybersecurity, demonstrated effective teaching and evidence of productive scholarship are required.

Successful candidates have the qualifications and interests in teaching a wide range of cybersecurity related courses such as secure software development, hacking techniques, cyber defense & digital forensics, information security, operating systems, and cryptography. The department has a new degree program in applied computer science and cybersecurity concentration. Faculty member in this position will take a key role in shaping the curriculum, developing faculty-student research projects, strengthening relationship with local companies.

Faculty normally teach 12 hours per semester. Salary commensurate with qualifications and teaching experience.
