Assistant Professor of Computer Science

Otterbein University, a comprehensive liberal arts institution, invites applications for the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science. We are interested in applicants with broad interests as well as an area of focus which may include, but is not limited to, data science, software engineering, distributed computing, human computer interfaces, computer security, and computer engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with a record of teaching excellence; experience in curricular development; interest in interdisciplinary collaboration; a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; and a dedication to service.

Teach approximately seven courses a year at both the introductory and advanced levels. Additionally, the candidate will participate in curriculum development, student advising, and service to the department and university.

Scholarship expectations for tenure-track faculty include professional research in Computer Science which contributes to the advancement of their field by developing a research program consistent with the educational mission of the Department.Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field, completed by time of appointment, is required. Qualified applicants in all areas of Computer Science will be considered. The ideal candidate will possess superior communication, leadership, and organizational skills and demonstrate a passion for teaching.

COMPENSATION: For the rank of Assistant Professor - $71,500 (plus full University benefits).

WHEN: This appointment will begin August 2024 or January 2025, based on availability of the applicant.
