West Virginia Wesleyan College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The hybrid Master of Arts program consists of online courses with two residences in Buckhannon, WV per year.

Candidates should have an earned doctoral degree in counselor education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program, or have a related doctoral degree and have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013. Experience with the CACREP accreditation process and/or mid cycle review is preferred. Appointment to tenure track will be considered if the qualifications of the successful applicant and the needs of the institution align.

Salary for this 12-month position is commensurate with professional and academic experience. Professional development funds will also be provided.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching 9-10 courses a year in fall, spring, and summer terms

  • Advising and mentoring of Masters Counseling students (may include reduction in teaching load)

  • Participating in professional development including scholarship, research, and community service

  • Assisting with the admissions process in interviewing, evaluating, and selecting qualified applicants

  • Participating in ongoing assessment of the curriculum and student learning
