The School of Accounting, Finance, Information Systems and Business Law (AFIB) invites applications for a 9-month fixed term position (renewable) in Business Law at the level of Assistant Professor beginning Fall semester 2019. Teaching responsibilities include four courses (face-to-face and online formats) per semester at the undergraduate or graduate level.
The successful candidate(s) will possess the ability to teach diverse legal topics and their business applications. Intellectual contributions are expected in one or more of the following areas: technology, international law, business associations, contracts, environmental law, employment law, ethics, wills and estates, marketing and ADR. Moreover, teaching and service duties may require a 5-day per week presence on campus.
A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to contribute to the mission of the Business Administration and Law program in providing students with the skills needed to address the challenges of contemporary business. The position is renewable on an annual basis. A demonstrated record of achievement in teaching at the college or university level is preferred.
A commitment to teaching excellence and innovation and the responsibility of four undergraduate classes (online and face-to-face) per semester are required. Additional service responsibilities may include advising students, advising a student organization and other service assignments as designated by the School Director. Moreover, the candidate must meet the AACSB accreditation requirements regarding academic qualification of college of business faculty.
The AACSB requirements for academic qualification mandate a minimum level of relevant research and publication. The minimum of a JD degree from an ABA accredited law school is required.
