Job Description:

The Department of Psychology invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Behavioral Neuroscience. Applicants should complement and extend existing expertise and engage in behavioral neuroscience research.

We are particularly interested in candidates with research interests in developmental neurobiology, motivated behaviors, metabolic disorders, learning and memory, stress or stress-related disorders, substance use, and/or candidates with expertise in utilizing cellular, molecular, and/or behavioral approaches. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. The anticipated appointment date is Fall 2024.

Requirements:

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field; postdoctoral or other relevant experience; published research; potential to attract external funding; and the ability to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. We particularly seek candidates who show the potential to collaborate with existing faculty in the Psychology Department or other departments across UTEP, but promising scholars with research interests in any area of Behavioral Neuroscience are encouraged to apply.
