Assistant Professor - Nursing, Castleton Campus

The School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Vermont State University invites applications for a Full-Time Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Nursing. We seek candidates with general medical-surgical nursing, pathophysiology and pharmacology experience working in acute or chronic-care populations.

Preference will be given to those with previous classroom, simulation, distance/online and/or clinical teaching experiences. The successful candidate would start in Fall 2024 (August).

Responsibilities:

Teaching load will average 24 credit hours or the equivalent per academic year. In-person didactic courses, with potential for simulation lab and clinical courses.

Classes and/or disciplines expected to teach include adult medical surgery and others as needed. This work will be done in the prelicensure BSN program on the Castleton campus. Other duties as assigned are anticipated and expected. Committee service and academic advising are expected.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must possess a Master's Degree in Nursing and have previous clinical experience in nursing. Teaching experience in secondary school or college is a plus.

An active, unencumbered Vermont RN license or eligibility for an unencumbered Vermont license is required. A valid driver's license is required. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence, scholarship and innovation in undergraduate teaching, to ongoing professional development, and to working closely with our BSN nursing students.

Salary:

Based on qualifications and experience as defined by VSC-VSCFF Bargaining Unit Agreement.
