Marshall University's Department of Natural Resources and Earth Sciences (College of Science) seeks a qualified and dedicated individual for a tenure-track position at rank of Assistant Professor of Natural Resources and Recreation Management. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in both teaching and research.
This position provides an opportunity to contribute to the academic growth and development of students while engaging in impactful research related to natural resources, recreation, tourism, sustainability, human dimensions of the environment, outdoor/environmental education, adventure programming, or other closely related discipline. Experience teaching at the post-secondary level.
Professional experience in natural resources and recreation management.
An established research plan related to natural resource management, recreation resource management, human dimensions of the environment, outdoor/environmental education, adventure programming, nature-based/sustainable/ecotourism, visitor use monitoring, GIS/remote sensing, geospatial science and technology, non-profit or public administration, or similar.
Demonstrated success in obtaining external research funding.
Experience with online and distance education.
The ability to teach courses elsewhere in the department in environmental science, earth science, agriculture, or related disciplines.
