Located in vibrant Brooklyn, New York, the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (LIU Pharmacy) is dedicated to training researchers who contribute to the fields of drug discovery, development, and delivery. The Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences at LIU Pharmacy invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, or Associate Professor level in the field of Medicinal Chemistry. The candidate will participate in scholarship, teaching, and service functions within the College. The candidate will teach in the graduate program (M.S. & Ph.D.) and in the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program.

The College of Pharmacy houses integrated drug discovery and development centers including The Williamson Institute for Pharmacometrics, Zupko Institute for Systems Pharmacology and Pharmacogenomics, Lachman Institute for Pharmaceutical Analysis and Natoli Institute for Industrial Pharmacy Research and Development. Furthermore, in support of the college's vision of preparing pharmaceutical scientists of tomorrow, the university established a collaboration with Dassault Systèmes, a world leader in AI technologies, to be further exploited in drug discovery and development research initiatives being held at the college. The college also has a center of data analytics and artificial/augmented intelligence, which candidates can use to refine their ideas and research programs to determine the worth of further development.

The division welcomes applications from a wide range of expertise in medicinal chemistry. Including synthetic organic pharmaceutical chemistry, discovery chemistry , and new chemical entities (NCEs) CMC-oriented development programs.

This is a 12-month position. Rank will depend on qualifications and experience.

This position requires a Ph.D. degree in Medicinal Chemistry. A B.S. degree in pharmacy is highly desirable. A prior record of teaching in some capacity (teaching assistant, Instructor, Lecturer, etc.) at a college of pharmacy or similar program is preferred.

Applicant must possess a track record of scholarly research and peer-reviewed publications and demonstrate potential for attracting extramural funding. Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
