Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in mechatronics and controls;

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level;

• Demonstrated excellence in research and other scholarly activity;

Job Specific Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field;

• ABD with completion by time of appointment will be considered;

• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in dynamic systems and controls, robotics, mechatronics, autonomous vehicles, and advanced mobility systems;

• Ability to use modern Engineering tools for teaching and research;

• Ability to develop an externally funded applied-research program;

• Demonstrated written and oral communication skills in the English language;

• Ability and desire to contribute through department, university, community and professional service work.

Percent of total time 45 Duties

Teaching and learning duties, including course, laboratories, and curriculum development, student projects, professional development aiming at enhancing student learning and best practices in teaching and learning.

Percent of total time 35 Duties

Research and scholarship: This includes establishing a research program appropriate for Kettering University, and aligned with teacher-scholar model. Also, it is expected that faculty involve students in research projects, publish their research and scholarship work in peer reviewed journals, as well as presentations in conferences.

Percent of total time 20 Duties

Service and citizenship: This includes service activities within the department, the institution, the profession, and the community.
