The Rutgers Brain Health Institute
and the Department of Psychiatry at Rutgers- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is recruiting a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant Professor level who studies motivational neuroscience, defined as research to understand brain mechanisms of motivation related to reward and emotional processing, substance abuse, feeding and obesity, or affective dysfunctions. Applicants must have a PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree, and a research program with currently active federal funding.
In addition to a strong, federally-funded research program, quality of research and fit within one or more of the four focus areas of the Rutgers Brain Health Institute are important criteria. The successful candidate will join an established group of 4 surgeons. RWJMS is a regional leader in providing excellent care across the spectrum of colorectal related diseases. Our team actively interacts with recently expanded GI and Interventional GI services. The candidate would be expected to meet requirements for an appointment as an Instructor or Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Department of Surgery and will be compensated commensurately. The successful candidate will augment the Section's clinical practice and will contribute actively to clinical research and education in line with the RWJMS mission and will be based at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH). RWJUH is the premier academic medical center in New Jersey serving a catchment of more than 5 million people. Construction will soon begin on a $150M renovation to the existing OR complex adding 6 new OR suites as well as a new $1B Cancer Center.
