Job Description
Homeland Security and Emergency Management faculty's primary purposes are to develop and teach master-level coursework, recruit, and mentor students in the career field, develop HSEM-related research and apply it in their courses, and involve themselves and students in their research and service projects.
This position is eligible for full-time remote work; DOES NOT need to have proximity to an ISU campus location. However, occasional travel to campus will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the quality of Homeland Security and Emergency Management Program offerings by:
1.Teaching online, asynchronous disciplinary courses within the Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) degree programs consistent with rank.
2.Developing and revising curriculum within the HSEM programs.
3.Conducting research and service initiatives related to homeland security and emergency management missions and education.
4.Keep apprised of new developments, research, and practices in HSEM fields and applies knowledge into course curriculum and delivery.
5.Supporting the strategic development and implementation of the HSEM academic programs.
6.Serving as a mentor providing resources and guidance for students seeking to enter careers in HSEM disciplines.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field
Graduate level-coursework in related field
Minimum 3 years experience teaching or training in a related field
Minimum 5 years related professional experience
Ability to contribute to service and leadership roles within the College of Health and the University
Experience with collaborative research projects
Preferred Qualifications
Terminal degree preferred
Five or more years of college or university teaching experience in homeland security and emergency management

3.Please describe your experience developing college-level courses for an online asynchronous environment. What topics and course titles have you developed? Which Learning Management Systems (LMS) have you used when developing course content?
This position will remain open until it is filled; however, priority consideration will be given to applications received prior to May 30, 2024. Salary will be $63,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
