Full-time faculty position in the developing Doctor of Physical Therapy Program (DPT), Orthopedic Rehabilitation Foundational Science
Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
Reporting to the Program Director, responsibilities of the Orthopedic Rehabilitation Foundational Science Faculty member include:
Direction and oversight in planning, implementation, and assessment of the foundational course content in the curriculum
Student advising
Scholarship, and service to the Department, College, University, and community.
Minimum Qualifications | To be considered, the candidate will have an earned doctoral degree from a regionally recognized USDE accredited university (PhD, EdD, DPT, DSc), in the area of orthopedic rehabilitation or related field. A successful candidate should also hold a physical therapy degree with a current license in good standing eligible for licensure in Illinois. Three years of experience teaching in higher education is desired. A minimum of three (3) years of full-time post-licensure clinical work experience is preferred if a physical therapist.
Preferred Qualifications | The preferred candidate will possess superior communication, organization, interpersonal, problem solving, and counselling skills. This individual will have an established or emerging scholarly agenda.-Teach courses in areas of documented expertise, as required by the program
Maintain expertise by participating in scholarship (e.g., scholarship of application, scholarship of teaching and learning) as defined by ACOTE
Participate in program evaluation
Attend departmental meetings, graduation ceremonies, and other college meetings or events, as required.
Foster an educational environment that is supportive of the Lasallian Mission.
Act as a Preceptor for Level I Fieldwork
Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director of the MSOT program.
