The University of Indianapolis' Graduate Department of Clinical Psychology (GDCP) is seeking a faculty member at the Assistant Professor level beginning in Fall 2024. This is a full-time, tenure-track position within our APA-accredited PsyD program and our MS program. The successful applicant for this position will be able to demonstrate outstanding commitment to graduate level teaching and dissertation research mentorship.

We are specifically looking for a Health Psychologist or a Clinical Psychologist who specializes in Heath. Additional duties include developing a program of research that engages graduate students, participating in ongoing program development within the PsyD program, serving on faculty and university committees.

The area of research interest is open, but the successful candidate's area of scholarship should lend itself well to the development of a program of applied or basic research with the potential to make a significant contribution to the literature. Furthermore, candidates should bring a strong desire to apply their research expertise to chairing and mentoring student dissertations and supervising the MS level research practicum. The program emphasizes many project types, including: traditional quantitative, qualitative, program development/evaluation, integrative/theoretical, and empirical single-case study design dissertation projects.

The PsyD program fully upholds and furthers the value of diversity as stated by the University and seeks to recruit and retain faculty, staff, and students from diverse and under-represented groups. Uindy is looking for candidates with a demonstrated commitment to and success working in diverse, multi-cultural and multi-racial communities, particularly in mentoring African American, Latino/a, and Native American students.

Applicants who can demonstrate both a commitment to improving access to higher education and effective mentoring of students from underrepresented backgrounds will be particularly competitive. We offer opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to participate in College- and Department-level diversity committees. In addition, we are home to professional organizations including ABPsi UIndy Student Circle and faculty-led support/climate enhancement groups for students.

The GDCP is located within an academic unit that offers an APA-accredited PsyD clinical psychology, Masters degrees in Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, and Social Work; MA specialization in Art Therapy, and BA/BS degrees in Psychology and Social Work. The doctoral program, which has adopted a practitioner-scholar model, accepts 30-40 students per year and offers concentrations in adult psychopathology and psychotherapy, health psychology/behavioral medicine, and child and adolescent psychology.

ABDs may be considered with the expectation of degree completion prior to starting the position. Uindy GDCP faculty are encouraged to actively engage in provision of clinical service to maintain clinical proficiency.

The University of Indianapolis is an accredited, private, comprehensive university whose motto is "Education for Service." Ranked in the top tier of Midwest universities by U.S. News & World Report, the campus is situated in the 12th largest city in the United States. It is within a 10-minute drive of what Forbes magazine lists as one of "America's Best Downtowns" where the potential for networking includes a rich social and intellectual confluence of professionals, artists, and cultural/educational events.
